Writing, discussion, and continuing conversation in a private community.
This 6-session book study/inquiry group uses the book Children's Lively Minds as a guide. Take time to reflect on teaching practice and supporting children's lively minds. Practice writing Learning Stories with the guidance of an expert.
Participants should plan to purchase the book "Children's Lively Minds: Schema Theory Made Visible" by Deb Curtis and Nadia Jaboneta.
Six, 90-minute sessions. Some sessions include short writing assignments. You will need a copy of the book.
Join a like-minded community of peers. Continue the conversation after sessions, including access to Julia for help with your Learning Stories.
A certificate of completion will be available at the end of the course. Materials related to Learning Stories will also be provided.
Six sessions will be held every other week on Tuesdays @ 6:00 pm EST (Wednesday 10:00 am NZT) for 1.5 hrs, starting on October 18th (October 19th AU/NZ).

The Director of Learning Story Academy, Julia Koumbassa joins Educa after eight years as Center Director at University of Michigan. All told, Julia has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for almost 25 years - as a leader, teacher, trainer and parent educator.
Julia has a passion for bringing new understandings and perspectives to the work and finds joy in helping educators grow and thrive.
Julia has developed a keen expertise in Learning Stories. She has visited Aotearoa, New Zealand twice.
